Amsterdam May 8, 2008 – Atradius, a global leader in credit insurance and collections, has moved its international head office from the centre of Amsterdam to a brand new building on David Ricardostraat in the Amsterdam Rieker Business Park. The transparent eleven story high building, designed by Van den Oever, Zaaijer & Partners architects, can accommodate 700 people. Atradius has signed a rental agreement with G&S Vastgoed for a period of 15 years.

Atradius left the Amsterdam canals, where the company had been housed since 1925, for the Amsterdam Riekerpolder. The reasons were multi-fold. The old building no longer met the requirements of contemporary professional standards and the old city became less and less accessible for both visitors and staff. It was decided to build a modern and highly visible new head office in the Rieker Business Park: a modern business park that is developing rapidly. “The new head office is our modern home base”, says Isidoro Unda, CEO of Atradius. “The Atradius we know today champions transparency, communication and professionalism. These values have been perfectly incorporated into the design of the building by Van den Oever, Zaaijer & Partners architects. Our international ambitions are (literally) reflected in the modern architecture and interior design, by using a lot of glass. The open spaces enhance communication and more personal contact. The building is modern, solid and stylish.”

The design of the new 13,500 m2 head office is based on the Atradius Corporate Real Estate Standards. The Atradius offices in Cologne and Copenhagen have already been designed to meet these criteria. “These buildings emphasise our membership in the Atradius family, presenting a strong, harmonious, and unified reflection of our identity to the market and to our employees, all over the world” concludes Unda.
